Chicago Through the Lens

Canon T5i, Sony a6500

CHICAGO, IL

This ongoing photography series explores the visual character of Chicago through a collection of images that capture its architecture, streets, people, and atmosphere. From historic landmarks and modern skyscrapers to quiet moments often overlooked, the project documents the balance between the city's rich history and its constant evolution.

The collection features a wide range of subjects, including architectural studies, urban landscapes, street photography, portraits, and environmental details that help define Chicago's identity. Each image is created with careful attention to composition, light, perspective, and mood, highlighting both the scale of the city and the smaller moments that give it character.

Rather than focusing only on well-known locations, the series explores the relationship between people and place. It captures how architecture, culture, and everyday life intersect throughout Chicago's neighborhoods, downtown corridors, and public spaces.

Through a blend of color and black-and-white photography, the collection emphasizes texture, contrast, emotion, and atmosphere. Each photograph serves as a visual study of the city's evolving landscape while preserving moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

At its core, the project is an exploration of observation and storytelling. It reflects a continued interest in documenting authentic environments and creating images that encourage viewers to see familiar places from a different perspective.
